At Xero, the developer community is the heartbeat of our ecosystem, providing the innovation and integrations that help small businesses thrive. To ensure we’re building the right tools, APIs, and experiences that enable you to build applications in the most efficient way, we need your feedback.
Today, we are excited to announce that applications for the Xero Developer Advisory Council (XDAC) are officially open!
What is the XDAC?
The XDAC is a diverse panel of hand-picked developers from across the globe. It serves as a core consultative group of developers who will provide in the moment feedback on our products, marketing activities, timelines, roadmaps and more.
As a member, you aren’t just a user of our APIs, you’ll have a seat at the table to challenge our ideas, share your technical hurdles, and provide input into Xero’s global strategic direction.
Why join the XDAC?
This is your chance to get to see behind the scenes at Xero Developer. By joining the XDAC, you will:
- Opportunity to Influence Provide feedback on Xero’s API offerings, certification processes, billing, and developer tools.
- Direct Access: Strengthen your relationship with Xero’s leadership through transparent, open conversations.
- Strategic Feedback: Help to educate and inform Xero strategy by sharing the challenges faced by app partners and independent developers.
- Community Leadership: Act as a representative voice for the wider developer community on platforms like Linkedin, Discord, GitHub, and Stack Overflow.
What we’re looking for
We are looking to build a diverse advisory council that consists of developers, builders and app partners who represent the full spectrum of our ecosystem. Whether you are part of a large app partner team or a solo development partner, we need your voice on the XDAC.
Criteria for selection include:
- Demonstrated use of Xero APIs, tools, and resources.
- A diverse spread of experience levels, company sizes, and geographic regions.
- A commitment to advocating for the needs of the developer industry.
- An active presence in social and technical developer communities.
The commitment
If your application to become an XPAC member is successful, we expect the following commitments from you:
- Tenure: Members are appointed for a 2-year term.
- Meetings: The XDAC meets formally at least once per quarter (virtually).
- Collaboration: Members are expected to review agenda topics, suggest discussion items, and participate in out-of-cycle consultations.
- Confidentiality: Because you’ll see early product demos and strategic plans, all members will need to agree to the XDAC T&Cs which include strict confidentiality obligations.
