It looks like the kill SD card issue is still not fixed

That’s a rough run, especially when one of them is only two years old. Standard microSD cards wear out quickly under constant rewriting, so if these cams are recording a lot of events, look for a card marked High Endurance or Max Endurance, which is made for nonstop recording and holds up much better. It might be worth trying that before you give up on the cameras.
