Rubin Observatory begins landmark 10-year timelapse of night sky

A field of stars in the constellation Lupus captured by the Simonyi Survey Telescope at the NSF–DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory. The faint, glowing clouds spread across the image are galactic cirrus: clouds of interstellar gas and dust that can be seen in the foreground of the Milky Way galaxy.
