Why recycling flexible plastics needs a clearer plan

A new briefing from the second Everyday Flexible Plastic Packaging Recycling Assembly calls for stronger government direction to stop flexible plastics being collected with good intentions but then sent to landfill, incinerated, exported or stored because there is not enough domestic recycling capacity. Flexible plastic packaging is part of daily life. It is used for food, toiletries, cleaning products and household goods because it is light, cheap and practical.
