I first moved to Florence in 2000 to study abroad, and have lived here off and on since, wandering cobblestone streets and marveling at the city’s masterpieces—and recently, the skyrocketing prices. There are now fewer restaurants where a meal is under €20. Admission to museums goes up by a few euros each year.
