How to simulate IQ04 or generate serials in standard way in custom program ?

Hi everyone, I’ve got a PP functional consultant requirement to create serials numbers and assign them to production order manually using some BAPIs and the most important point is the generating of the serial numbers must be using IQ04 or any standard way (which means I have to find a standard way to simulate the IQ04 in my custom program to generate the serials) to ensure that serials are accurate 100%. I had searched to find any function module to generate serials for the specific material (to simulate IQ04) but found nothing. Please, Is there any way or do you recommend anything to do so ?
