I completely agree that CL_ABAP_PARALLEL and bgPF are the modern, officially supported frameworks for implementing parallel processing in newer ABAP environments, especially on SAP S/4HANA and ABAP Cloud. My intention in discussing the SPTA framework was primarily from the perspective of understanding and maintaining legacy applications, where it is still encountered.
