Thanks for getting in touch. There colours represents the types of terrain detected by the algorithm. This isn’t a complete list, but they vary from blue (water), brown (sand), light green (open space), yellow (crops), dark green (woodland), purple (suburban), and through to red (city centre).
The machine learning functionality is intended to generate more accurate wind assessments, particularly in regional locations where our previous detection algorithm would sometimes come unstuck as we were dependent on third-party data sources.
