EACL 2026: What We Learned at the 19th Conference of the European Chapter of the ACL

EACL 2026 marked a historic milestone for the NLP community — for the first time, the Conference of the European Chapter of the Association for Computational Linguistics landed on the African continent. Held in Rabat, Morocco, from March 24 to 29, the six-day event brought together researchers, engineers, and practitioners from around the world for one of the most substantive annual gatherings in natural language processing and computational linguistics. The choice of Rabat was deliberate and symbolic.
