Is anything being done to fix the new app experience?

I’ve been a member since the early days and have always looked forward to new designs, but this one feels like a big step backwards. As we’d say here, it’s “all frills and no knickers”: it looks polished, but very little thought seems to have gone into the actual user experience. 1.
