Garanti BBVA, one of Turkey’s largest private banks, shared insights on managing infrastructure supporting 30 million customers and 1.2 billion daily transactions across 60 Red Hat OpenShift clusters. The bank addressed critical etcd database growth through targeted optimizations including limiting deployment revision history, eliminating unnecessary secrets, and consolidating redundant ConfigMaps. By implementing a custom low-resource deletion tool, they successfully reclaimed 1.5 to 2 GB of storage space while establishing sustainable, automated processes for continued management.
