The NSF-funded DRIVE-SAFE project used OCUDU on the POWDER Wireless testbed to demonstrate trajectory-aware 5G handover optimization for tele-operated driving. By enabling application-aware mobility policies within an open, modifiable RAN, the project eliminated unnecessary handovers and demonstrated a practical path toward low-latency, cooperative network services for 5G-Advanced and 6G.
