Coherent Breaks Ground on Expanded Texas Facility, Scaling AI's Optical Backbone

Coherent announced an expansion of its Sherman, Texas manufacturing facility for indium phosphide semiconductors and optical components that produce lasers and networking gear for NVIDIA AI infrastructure. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang attended the groundbreaking, and Coherent secured a $50 million CHIPS Act grant to fund the expansion.
