The FDA approved Lilly’s Onswik as a once-weekly basal insulin for adults with type 2 diabetes. Four Phase 3 trials found blood-sugar control that was not inferior to daily basal insulin, but the drug is not approved for type 1 diabetes and still carries hypoglycaemia risks.
