During a typical school day, a device rarely stays in one place. It may start the morning charging, travel across campus in a backpack, connect to a display for a presentation, and finish the day at a library table or a desk at home. Along the way, the work changes too: typing notes during a lecture, reading a chapter of a textbook and writing in the margins, presenting a group project to a class, or color-coding a diagram.
