Thoughts on the HHS RFI on Artificial Intelligence: How we get to innovation, trusted adoption, and equitable impact

The Office of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather stakeholder input on how best to support the application and adoption of AI in the clinical space. It reminded me of an old saying in New England, “You can’t get there from here.” Sometimes — like during the Big Dig — we use it because it’s actually true. Other times, it’s simply easier than giving a long-winded set of directions.
