CMS-0062-P: A Primer on Electronic Drug Prior Authorization

Healthcare prior authorization is undergoing a significant transformation. With CMS-0057-F (introduced in January 2024), the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) established new interoperability and prior authorization requirements designed to improve the electronic exchange of health information and reduce administrative burden for payers and providers. Many of those requirements take effect January 1, 2027.
