Introduction The development of high-performance and cost-effective electrode materials is crucial for the advancement of next-generation energy storage devices. ## Methods In this study, a zinc cobaltite-polyaniline (ZnCo~2~O~4~-PANI) nanocomposite was successfully synthesized through a simple and economical in-situ polymerization method for supercapacitor applications. The structural and electrochemical properties of the prepared composite were systematically investigated and compared with pristine ZnCo~2~O~4~ and pure PANI electrodes.
