Higher education campuses are widely recognized as entities that consume substantial amounts of energy, water, and other resources while also producing significant amounts of waste and emissions from transport activities. At the same time, conventional approaches to managing campuses are largely manual and rigid, thus limiting opportunities to ensure that resources are used as efficiently as possible. In this regard, artificial intelligence (AI) can be considered a disruptive force that can be leveraged to predict, classify, forecast, optimize, and manage resources and processes.
