Two Thousand Years of “The Odyssey” at the Library

“The Odyssey,” filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s retelling of the epic Greek poem, is riding a huge wave of popularity in cinemas around the country. The Library preserves more than 2,000 years of history of the works attributed to Homer, including a fragment of “The Iliad” on papyrus and a copy of the 1616 first translation of “The Odyssey” into English. Oh, and the Marvel Comics retelling of “The Odyssey” in 1976, with a purple Cyclops?
