Belgian physicist Francis Halzen has been awarded the 2026 Nobel Prize in Physics for his decisive contributions to the IceCube Neutrino Observatory. Halzen obtained his master’s degree and PhD at KU Leuven. KU Leuven warmly congratulates alumnus Halzen on receiving the highest distinction in science.
