Kagi has temporarily disabled free access to its Translate service for unsigned users due to sustainability concerns, though the service continues to work for active subscribers at translate.kagi.com and through mobile apps. The service became unexpectedly popular since launch, making free access economically unfeasible, so Kagi paused public access while exploring options such as usage limits, account-based models, or pricing adjustments. Kagi reaffirmed that it does not use translations for advertising or build user profiles from translated content.
