Joby's First FAA-Conforming Aircraft Takes Flight

Joby began flight testing its first FAA-conforming aircraft (N547JX) for Type Inspection Authorization, a major milestone toward type certification for its electric air taxi. Built largely in-house through Joby’s vertically integrated manufacturing, the aircraft is the first of a fleet in production for TIA testing, following the U.S. government clearing mature designs for early operations under the eVTOL Integration Pilot Program across ten states.
