New direct scanning strategy improves accuracy and repeatability

Hexagon’s laser tracker team developed a “surface comparison point measurement” strategy for the Leica Absolute Tracker ATS600 that improves accuracy by a factor of two and reduces repeatability to only 10 microns. An aerospace customer cut inspection times from 2.5 hours to 45 minutes using the method.
