Last month, EPA issued a press release outlining its “comprehensive PFAS strategy,” followed by a series of press releases announcing grant funding to over 40 states and territories for PFAS projects. The grant funding is the final installment of a 5-year, $5B allocation made by Congress in 2021 under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. The funds are to be used for testing, planning, and infrastructure projects to address PFAS and other emerging contaminants in drinking water in disadvantaged communities.
