How to protect seniors from scams

Scams targeting older adults are becoming more sophisticated, personal, and costly. In 2024, adults age 60 and older reported $4.885 billion in losses to the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center, across 147,127 complaints. The FTC also reported that fraud losses reported by adults 60+ rose from about $600 million in 2020 to $2.4 billion in 2024.
