During exercise Sword 26 in May 2026, U.S. Army and Maryland National Guard cyber defenders joined Estonian Defence Forces at Cyber Range 14 in Tallinn to train against simulated attacks on critical infrastructure. Operating as a blue team, the U.S. Soldiers secured mock power and rail networks against Estonian red-team adversaries. This “invisible” defense training bolstered allied trust, readiness, and interoperability, proving essential for protecting vital digital networks along NATO’s eastern flank.
