DigitalOcean has launched its Data & Learning layer to address the challenge of building AI applications that require both structured database queries and semantic search capabilities. The platform integrates PostgreSQL and MySQL Advanced Edition (now in Public Preview), Knowledge Bases for simplified RAG implementation, and Managed Weaviate for vector database operations — all designed to eliminate latency and costs associated with stitching together separate vendors while maintaining zero egress fees between the data and inference layers.
