State AGs Roll Challenge to Federal Marijuana Rescheduling

Several state attorneys general, including those from Nebraska and Indiana, filed a legal challenge seeking to block a federal rule that reclassified certain FDA-approved medical marijuana products from Schedule I to Schedule III controlled substances. The AGs contend the reclassification was procedurally improper and exceeds the authority of the Department of Justice and Drug Enforcement Administration under existing law. The lawsuit, consolidated with other challenges, asks the court to declare the rule unlawful and remove it from effect.
