Visibility into how these non-human identities operate must precede attempts to control them, since most teams struggle to answer basic questions about machine identity creation, permissions, and interconnections. The article calls for treating machine identity governance as a foundational security priority given that machine identities now represent the fastest-growing attack surface inside organizations.
