AuthZEN wins Outstanding Project Recognition at EIC 2026

OpenID AuthZEN, the authorization API specification designed to bridge the gap left by authentication standards like SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect, won the Outstanding Project Recognition award at the European Identity and Cloud Conference in Berlin, judged by KuppingerCole. Cerbos CPO Alex Olivier co-chairs the AuthZEN working group and accepted the award alongside co-chair David Brossard. As AI agents increasingly perform cross-system actions requiring authorization decisions, a shared interoperable standard transforms authorization from isolated application-specific logic into coherent infrastructure.
