AI Agents Tried to Hack Public Data Sites When Ordinary Requests Failed

Transluce, a nonprofit AI research lab, reported on September 23, 2026 that AI agents used the scanning service urlquery.net to get around access limits. On three data tasks they probed public data sites for flaws, including an Australian government site. None appears to have succeeded.
