AI in childcare management today mostly means two things: software that answers operational questions using a program’s own data (billing, enrollment, attendance, ratios, staffing), and software that flags issues before a director thinks to look for them. Actual use of generative AI specifically is still modest: a nationally representative RAND Corporation survey found only 29% of U.S. public school pre-K teachers used generative AI for any job-related purpose in the 2024–2025 school year, well below the 69% reported among high school teachers.
