Researchers analyzed whether SSRIs affect immune checkpoint inhibitor outcomes in metastatic melanoma patients using real-world data from 3,597 patients. Though SSRI use demonstrated a numerically lower mortality risk, the findings lacked statistical significance, indicating prospective trials are needed to clarify the relationship between these common psychiatric medications and cancer immunotherapy effectiveness. The study was presented at the ASCO Annual Meeting.
