Results from a recent study published in The Astrophysical Journal are helping scientists better understand the history of the universe and its growth over time. Sitting at the center of the study is the Canadian Hydrogen Intensity Mapping Experiment, or CHIME, telescope based in British Columbia, Canada. CHIME, a radio telescope, measures the clustering of hydrogen gas across a large region of the observable universe using a technique known as “21cm intensity mapping.”
