ASU alumnus is university's first Samvid Scholar

Nathaniel Ross was serving in Laos as a Luce Scholar when he received the news that he wouldn’t need to worry about how to pay for Yale Law School.“I was shocked,” Ross said.Selected from more than 1,000 applicants, Ross is one of only 20 students nationwide selected for the 2026 Samvid Scholars cohort and is the first Arizona State University graduate to receive the award.
