Anthropic opens Seoul office and announces new partnerships across the Korean AI ecosystem

Anthropic opened its Seoul office, led by Representative Director KiYoung Choi, and announced partnerships across Korea’s AI sector along with an MOU with Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT on AI safety and cybersecurity. Enterprise partners include NAVER (deploying Claude Code to thousands of engineers), Nexon, LG CNS, Hanwha Solutions, Samsung SDS, and Channel Corp, while the National AI Research Lab gives Claude access to up to 60 researchers at KAIST, Korea University, Yonsei, and POSTECH. The launch reflects Korea’s place among the top dozen countries for Claude.ai usage.
