Lots of conda related errors just in the past week

Just in the past week 5-10 of my students have started getting conda errors like: error while loading conda entry port: repo (cannot import name ‘condaSubcommand’ from ‘conda.plugins’ after creating a new conda environment. This seems to affect even their existing environments? I cannot seem to replicate the issue on my systems, so I don’t know what’s going on.
