In the first 18 days after launching the new Amplitude docs, LLM crawlers requested more pages than humans did, with bots accounting for 198,843 page views compared to 124,044 pages loaded by 37,561 unique humans. This usage ratio motivated a redesign that treats agents as primary consumers and provides both agents and their human users with faster pathways from question to answer to implementation. The team rebuilt the site treating documentation as a programmable interface rather than merely a website, fundamentally changing their approach to content strategy and contribution workflows.
