AbbVie announced that the European Commission has approved AQUIPTA (atogepant) for acute migraine treatment in adults. The approval marks the medication’s second indication in the EU, alongside its existing use as a once-daily preventive treatment. The decision was based on the Phase 3 ECLIPSE trial, which demonstrated that AQUIPTA achieved statistically significant pain freedom at two hours versus placebo during migraine attacks.
